2018 is the 40th Folk Music Festival – August 10, 11 & 12The Shawano Folk Music Festival is a family weekend with an eclectic mix of music, dance and activities. Fine artists and crafters line the park paths, and there is a full program for children. Friday and Saturday evening concerts are held inside air conditioned Mielke Arts Center, with 4 performers each night.
Saturday and Sunday daytime programs include music, dance, children’s programs, craft demos, sing-alongs, and instruction on 4 outdoor stages in Shawano’s Mielke Park. Local vendors offer an array of good food, and the Open Stage invites musicians a chance to perform for an appreciative audience.
It’s a family weekend, and it goes on rain or shine. Join us for an evening, a day, or the entire weekend. The festival is sponsored by the Shawano County Arts Council, and is produced entirely by volunteers.
Along with music and dance, the Shawano Folk Music Festival offers the best of hand made crafts. In booths that line wooded paths, you’ll find jewelry, clothing, pottery, paintings, toys, soaps and candles, instruments, wood carvings and much more. All offered for sale – and often demonstrated by the artists and crafters themselves.
Artists and crafters interested in joining the Annual Shawano Folk Music Festival can download the Crafter Information and Registration Form.
