Master Classes

Learn from the Masters! Friday, August 10

New this year, the Shawano Folk Festival offers master classes during the day on the Friday of the Festival weekend.

Three master musicians will share their knowledge in a series of in-depth master classes. They are recognized nationally as scholars, performers and teachers. This is your chance to improve your skills and technique and get inspired.

Classes geared toward emerging musicians. “Newbies” also welcome.

Class size is limited, and registration is required. Sign up early!

Cost: $35 for each class.

For more information, and to register, call Linda at (920) 680-4662.

Andy Cohen will help you with this technique used in Misssissippi
Delta blues.

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Swing Jazz Techniques for Violin and Other Strings
Randy Sabien brings jazz strings to life. Be prepared for a wild
ride in this class, and some serious instruction.
